The event promoted peace making and violence prevention in cooperation with the Presbytery of Eastern Virginia and the Norfolk City Government. A similar gathering was held in August 2023, with a back to school emphasis, supplying 300 students with school supplies. These events also bring resource providers to the Park Place and Huntersville neighborhoods of Norfolk, with average attendance of 1,000 youth and adults. Overall ECCYF activities also bring resources through out the year to communities served. Careers - ECCYF monthly food distributions, as well as Back to School and Christmas events offer a venue to bring employment, job training, transportation to work and school, as well as similar resources to about 1,000 youth and adults. Nutrition - ECCYF sponsored a monthly food distribution to an average of 100 families, sharing about 60,000 lbs of meat, produce, dry goods and household essentials. Health - ECCYF partnered with the Virginia Department of Health to promote COVID19 prevention and prepardness monthly during 2023-24 reaching over 100 families and 3500 individuals. ECCYF also provided rental and utility assistance
