They are organized into programs that cover a variety of topics ranging from inventory valuation, biology and ecology of species to fisheries management through socio-economics and technology. These research programs are moving toward more integrated approaches that address environmental concerns of ever increasing. To fulfill its mission, IMROP provides: - 170 staff including 110 researchers and technicians on five geographic locations located Cansado Nouadhibou and Nouakchott Kaédi; - A budget of over 900 million Ouguiyas (2 million Euros); - 2 oceanographic research vessels that allow it to carry out investigations both in coastal areas at open sea.
