The aim of the association is to develop dialectical-behavioral therapy in Poland in both clinical and research practice, and to disseminate knowledge about this form of therapy and to supervise the implementation and compliance of high quality and principles and to comply with the theory underlying therapy in centres in Poland. The parallel objective of the association is to destigmate and support adults suffering from personality disorders, including personality disorder with borders (borderline) and related disorders, as well as children and young people with problems in regulating emotions and self-destructive behaviours, and their loved ones, families and carers.

Celem działania towarzystwa jest rozwijanie terapii dialektyczno-behawioralnej w polsce zarówno w praktyce klinicznej, jak i w badaniach, a także upowszechnianie wiedzy na temat tej formy terapii oraz nadzór na wdrażaniem i zapewnienie wysokiej jakości i przestrzegania zasad oraz zgodności z teorią leżącą u podstawy terapii w ośrodkach w polsce. Równoległym celem działania towarzystwa jest także destygmatyzacja i wspieranie osób dorosłych cierpiących na zaburzenia osobowości, w tym zaburzenie osobowości z pogranicza (borderline) i zaburzenia pokrewne, a także dzieci i młodzieży z problemami w zakresie regulacji emocji i zachowaniami autodestrukcyjnymi, oraz ich bliskich, rodzin i opiekunów.
