In partnership with Northside Independent School District NISD and the participating 4th and 5th-grade classes of five selected elementary schools are planting 500 trees throughout the campuses in 2023. This tree-planting project will expand the curriculum of the Environmental Science lesson for the students by giving them hands-on experience in planting trees. We purchased a Ford F250 a trailer with a 1,000 gallon water tank and safety equipment. Tree Buds Citizen Forester Training Program is sponsored by the Alamo Forest Partnership and the San Antonio Arborists Association with support from Bexar Branches Alliance. The goal is to teach citizens the basics of proper tree pruning for young trees and essential tree care in order to supplement the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department's tree-planting initiatives. The cost below reflects BBA's administration costs. BBA has scheduled educational Tree Trail Treks throughout our parks and natural areas to educate the public about what trees are in our urban forest their benefits and the importance of a healthy canopy to ensure the health of our communities. BBA also partners with the Alamo Forest Partnership to support the Tree Buds Citizen Forester program that prunes trees in public parks to help improve the health and survival rate of the trees in our parks. The amount below is for the administrative cost for the two hosted in 2022
