Charting Your Own Course: A College and Career Preparedness Guide for Homeschooled Students and Alumni is a first-of-its-kind website and e-book designed to give homeschooled teens, young adults, and their families guidance on higher education, trade and vocational education, and career preparedness. This is just one example of the many resources we have available to help homeschooled students and families. For a decade, CRHE staff and volunteers have compiled Homeschoolings Invisible Children (HIC), an interactive, searchable database of over 600 child abuse and fatality cases in homeschool settings. CRHE's research director has moved to the next phase of analyzing this data to further publish quantitative and qualitative findings and operationalize them into a training program to inform child welfare professionals. This year, CRHE presented the preliminary findings at the nationally recognized Crimes Against Children conference in Dallas, Texas. CRHE also tracks and analyzes state-based legislation that impacts homeschooled children. CRHE maintains an extensive website, responsiblehomeschooling.org, that provides a compendium of information about homeschooling in the US. The website includes pages on homeschooling policy in all 50 states; resources for homeschooled families in creating a high school transcript and diploma; access to our database and our research reports; and a set of special pages for homeschooling parents.
