Youth from all over the country had the opportunity to submit a flower of their choosing to be included in the mural with their name. Over 100 youth engaged with cgr to contribute to the mural, and each flower serves as a reminder of the power, beauty, and creativity they share. The project was very successful and cgr has been given the opportunity to build upon the successes of this project by creating an annual tradition of mural making throughout the city of nashville, including a mobile mural project where youth are able to participate with the artists. On september 15, 2020, creative girls rock (cgr) was awarded metro nashville cares act funding from the united way of greater nashville. This program was completed in 2021. The grant funds were used to offer financial assistance to individuals who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. 15 households with 39 members received funding to help pay for their rent, mortgage, utility accounts that were passed due. The cgr master class is a core program of creative girls rock designed to offer a safe community space for young girls (ages 6+) and women to learn and engage in arts and crafts, artistic design, visual arts and empowerment workshops
