Composer and EiO Founder Aaron Siegel wrote 30 minutes of music for this opera which follows a family of four into a large department store for their weekly Sunday shop. The workshop performance took place in an unused storefront in Chelsea. The creative team, led by director Mark DeChiazza converted the space into a department store and audience members were ushered around the building based on the storyline. 84 audience members attended this thrilling workshop performance. On April 15, 2024, Experiments in Opera partnered with Works & Process for a single night performance of Act 1 of Phil Kline's new opera The Lives and Dreams of Nikola Tesla at the Guggenheim Museum in Manhattan. The opera featured films by Jim Jarmusch and singing by noted countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo. The cast of 9 singers and 8 instrumentalists shared the story of the well known inventor's final days in the Gotham Hotel at the turn of the 20th Century. 276 audience members were in attendance at the performance which was previewed by the San Francisco Classical Voice publication. On May 30, 2024, EiO presented the first workshop of a new opera Crystal's Channel, by EiO Co-Founder Jason Cady at Brooklyn Art Haus in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
