The International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA) is an international instrument that farmers and plant breeders rely on to access the raw genetic material needed to develop new crop varieties, including those resilient to climate change. The Treaty’s objectives focus on the conservation and sustainable use of all plant genetic resources for food and agriculture and the fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising out of their use. The cooperation with FAO shall according to our agreement be in accordance with the ODA requisites set by OECD DAC. In 2024 Sida also added components to this contribution that support FAO:s work with the Voluntary Guidelines for Securing Sustainable Small-Scale Fisheries in the Context of Food Security and Poverty Eradication (SSF Guidelines). These guidelines are directed at all those involved in the sector and intend to guide and encourage governments, fishing communities and other stakeholders to work together and ensure secure and sustainable small-scale fisheries for the benefit of small-scale fishers, fish workers and their communities as well as for society at large. https://www.fao.org/voluntary-guidelines-small-scale-fisheries/en/
