Удружење има за циљ промовисање права особа са инвалидитетом захваљујући удруживању гласова различитих организација особа са инвалидитетом. Удружење ће посебно штити права примене Конвенције о правима особа са инвалидитетом (\"КПОИ\"), и стараће се да Програм 2030 Уједињених нација као и други инструменти који се односе на људска права и развој истих буду у складу са КПОИ-ем. Захваљујући својо јединственој мрежи која окупља водеће организације које заступају особе са инвалидитетом, како међународне тако и регионалне, Удружење на најбољи начин представља особе са инвалидитетом на светском нивоу. Циљ Удружења је да представља међународни покрет особа са инвалидитетом, подстичући националне организације које заступају особе са инвалидитетом да се придруже регионалним и међународним организацијама које су Равноправни чланови Удружења, и позивајући националне кровне организације које заступају права особа са инвалидитетом, а које деле принципе и циљеве Удружења, да постану Придружени чланови Удружења на националном нивоу.
