STREAM Foundation was formed in July 2020. We launched with limited resources, but with a vision to make the asset management industry more inclusive. In 2021 we had six internships for college students in Dallas, Texas, that were accompanied with six different asset management firms in Dallas. In 2022 that number has grown to twenty internships located in Dallas, Austin, Cincinnati, Houston, Fort Worth, and New York. Each of our interns is provided at a minimum $10,000 in total compensation via salary from the asset managers and/or scholarship assistance provided by our organization. STREAM Foundation was formed to educate, train, mentor and provide scholarship and internship opportunities to students from underrepresented groups in the area of asset management with the ultimate goal of increasing industry representations. In order to accomplish its goal, STREAM Foundation utilizes a two pronged approach. First, STREAM Foundation provides education, training and networking opportunities for students from underrepresented groups. STREAM Foundation also assists students in obtaining internships and/or other work experience with asset management firms in order to allow students to learn more about the industry, gain valuable experience and deepen and expand their professional networks. Second, STREAM Foundation aims to create change in the asset management industry's recruiting, hiring and retention practices with respect to underrepresented candidates and employees. Finally, STREAM Foundation provides college students with financial support during its internships.

During the internships, we will host educational events with senior members of the investment community to (1) expand the students' network, (2) provide insights into asset management roles across all segments of the industry and/or (3) discuss experiences senior members working in asset management that are part of these underserved communities have faced and the challenges they have had to navigate. Another service that will be providing under the program is each student will be assigned a mentor from a different asset management firm to further expand his/her network and provide helpful insights and guidance. Two of our first six interns are graduating this May and both of them will be starting jobs within the industry at well-respected firms. We want to setup our alumni interns for success and provide career long support and mentorship. The other four of our 2021 interns are furthering their career in the industry through subsequent internships with reputable firms. We have assisted in placing them in these roles and will continue to be supportive as each enters the workforce.
