Largest Science & Technology charities by reported annual revenue

Grant funding, not donations in the usual sense, explains most of the revenue at the top of this science and technology ranking: research institutes and laboratories report the cost of equipment, staff scientists, and facilities funded by government and foundation contracts. A citizen-science nonprofit will never reach that scale, and its budget was never built to. This ranking only includes organizations that publish annual figures, so smaller research and education groups, and those where disclosure rules are lighter, sit outside the data, not at the bottom of it. Size here reflects grant funding, not the quality of the research produced.
