Mission

Our mission is to provide rescue, rehabilitation, sanctuary, and adoption services for species of wild birds that are not protected under state or federal law as well as domestic and exotic avian species. We specialize in English House Sparrows, European Starlings, feral and domestic pigeons and doves, and small to mid-sized hookbills (parrots). Much of our work involves taking in sick, injured, and/or orphaned wild baby birds during spring into summer. Members of the public often find baby birds that have become orphaned and that cannot be returned to their nest and natural parents. We raise these tiny beings and care for them until they are self sufficient and can be released back to the wild. In addition to caring for baby birds, we also receive many sick or injured adult birds from members of the pubic throughout the year that require veterinary attention and/or rehabilitation care. Some of these birds are wild and some are domestic/exotic birds. While our goal is to rehabilitate and release the wild birds, this is not possible with the domestic and exotic species as they do not possess the skills needed to survive on their own in the wild. These birds as well as any wild birds that cannot be rehabilitated to the point of release need to be found homes where they will either be pets or can live out their lives in the safety of an aviary situation. We hope to begin working with local animal shelters in 2017 to assist with avian species that are picked up as strays or surrendered by owners. Most of our local animal shelters are not adequately set up to house and care for birds. In order to accomplish our goals, we are developing an association of people who will volunteer their time and talents to provide: * Hands on care for sick, injured, and/or orphaned birds * Transportation services to see that needy birds can get to where they need to be for care * Foster and adoptive homes * Fundraising to assure that we have the financial means to meet the needs of th
