Nutcracker: btca's secondary objective is to further enrich the cultural landscape of central indiana. To this end, btca presents 2 full-length ballets each year, including the holiday classic the nutcracker. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, plans were made to present 4 live performances dec. 19 & 20, with a cast of 44 dancers, social distancing precautions, and a digital viewing option. 108 live and 27 digital access tickets were sold, however the live performances were ultimately cancelled the night before opening day due to contact tracing of cast members to a positive COVID-19 case. Live performance ticket holders were offered a refund but encouraged to purchase a digital access ticket so they could enjoy the show from home. Despite this disappointment, we still feel this production served our mission. Community members had an opportunity to engage with the arts through a beautiful ballet, and our dancers were able to continue sharing their passion for dance du
