Der bff ist der Bundesverband der Frauenberatungsstellen und Frauennotrufe in Deutschland, im bff sind über 200 dieser ambulanten Fachberatungsstellen zusammengeschlossen. Sie leisten in Deutschland den hauptsächlichen Anteil der ambulanten Beratung und Hilfestellung für weibliche Betroffene von geschlechtsspe­zifischer Gewalt. Hierbei geht es um Gewalt in (Ex)Partnerschaften, sexualisierte Gewalt (in Kindheit und Jugend und im Erwachsenenalter), Stalking, digitale Gewalt, psychische Gewalt und sexualisierte Belästigung, z.B. am Arbeitsplatz.
