Grün­dungs­tag des BLSV war der 18. Juli 1945. Beim ersten ordent­li­chen Verbands­tag im August 1947 folgte man der Idee, “sich frei­wil­lig in der Gemein­schaft zum Besten der Leibes­übun­gen zusam­men­zu­s­chlie­ßen”. Auch wenn sich die Zeiten und die Ausdrucks­weise seit­dem geän­dert haben, so ist der Grund­ge­danke dennoch gleich­ge­blie­ben. Auch heute, mehr als 75 Jahre nach Grün­dung des BLSV, steht der Sport im Mittel­punkt – ob im Brei­ten­sport, Leis­tungs­sport, Mann­schafts­sport oder Indi­vi­du­al­sport. Dies drückt sich heute durch die Mission des BLSV aus, die als Leit­li­nie unser Handeln bestimmt: #LebeD­ei­nen­Sport!
