Community Living Above (CLA) is a prevention coalition that implements prevention efforts in the community. We are dedicated to preventing substance use among youth by collaborating with the community to raise awareness, modify social norms, educate youth and adults, and promote mental health wellness. We do this by engaging, educating, and empowering youth, families, and communities to make informed decisions by assessing the local conditions, developing a community coalition that establishes a framework that strengthens collaboration and supports the implementation of activities that prevent youth substance use/misuse, fosters resilience, provides education, resources, and support, and promotes healthy life choices. Our program is built on collaboration. We are creating a safe and nurturing environment for our youth through evidence-based programs, community engagement, and partnerships with families, schools, and other stakeholders. During 2023, the student club implemented a new social media page focused on youth. In 2023, coalition members and youth hosted five booths at various community events, sharing education and resources with the different communities. There were also two parent and community-focused events where prevention programs referred to as the Family Code were shared with two school communities, reaching 150+ parents at each event. This hybrid event allowed easy access and sharing of the recorded events (500+). Community Assessment (ongoing) and Development & Strategic Framework Planning A program service accomplishment in 2023 was finalizing the data collection, analyzing results, and implementing training, programs, and services that reflect and support local assessment results. Data was collected from focus groups, interviews with local leaders and stakeholders, and results from state student health surveys administered in grades 6, 8, and 11. Also collected were school dropout rates, DUI/Wrecks from the police department, and alcohol license and special permit uses, to name a few. Extensive training for coalition and board members was completed as part of the Drug-Free Community Grant CADCA's National Coalition Academy, training for staff and coalition membe
