Das Deutsche Sportschiedsgericht, eine von den Sportverbänden und sonstigen Sportorganisationen unabhängige Einrichtung, wird von der DIS getragen. Es befasst sich mit Streitigkeiten mit Bezug zum Sport allgemein und insbesondere mit Anti-Dopingstreitigkeiten. Zum Zwecke der Interessenvertretung werden Gespräche mit Vertreterinnen und Vertretern des BMJV und anderer Bundesministerien sowie mit Mitgliedern des Deutschen Bundestages u.a. zu Fragen der Stärkung des Schieds- und Rechtsstandorts Deutschland geführt. Zweck der Interessenvertretung ist es, die Sicht der Praxis zu vermitteln und Impulse zur Stärkung des Justizstandorts Deutschland zu geben. Im Zuge dessen wurde unter anderem im Juni 2025 die BMJV/DIS-Konferenz "Der Streitbeilegungsstandort Deutschland" in Karlsruhe durchgeführt. Darüber hinaus werden in Einzelfällen auch Stellungnahmen zu konkreten Regelungsvorhaben erarbeitet und übermittelt.
