Dins de l’entitat es crearan, sempre sota supervisió de la Junta Directiva, seccions i comissions destinades a potenciar cadascuna de les vessants que l’entitat ofereix. Promourà la utilització del coneixement, el programari i la tecnologia en llengua catalana. Portarà a terme aquelles actuacions que permetin l’acostament dels minerals i del medi natural a la societat. Les activitats que porti a terme el Grup Mineralògic Català no tindran cap fi lucratiu. En queda exclòs tot ànim de lucre.
