These youth participate in seminars on Afro-Latinidad, interview locally-based Afro-Latinx/ Afro-Indigenous artists, compose expository pieces to be published on MAS's website. In this event we seeked to merge art and health promotion, while centering the voices of artists as the axis to share messages about the importance of vaccination and to raise awareness and educate the Afro-Latino community about our traditions. At the end of the event the audience took away the knowledge of how to compose verses, the verses they composed, the joy of being in community and an informative resource pack about Covid-19 and ways to stay healthy in these times.
