GiveRadar provides data for research and does not endorse any organization. Nederlandse Omroep Stichting is registered in the Netherlands. Nederlandse Omroep Stichting has ANBI (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling) status, so donations are tax-deductible. You can deduct gifts that exceed 1% of your threshold income (minimum 60 euros). Periodic gifts (committed for 5+ years) are fully deductible without threshold.
Nederlandse Omroep Stichting is a Dutch foundation (stichting) - the most common legal form for charities and public-benefit organisations in the Netherlands. A stichting has no members, is governed by a board, and is established by notarial deed for a specific purpose. It is the only Dutch legal form that can hold ANBI (public-benefit) status without member oversight. There are about 250,000 stichtingen on file at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK), of which roughly 50,000 hold ANBI status with the Belastingdienst. It is registered with the Kamer van Koophandel (KvK), the Dutch Chamber of Commerce, with RSIN 820080639.
You can verify Nederlandse Omroep Stichting's legal status in three ways. First, look up the RSIN directly on the Belastingdienst ANBI register: https://www.belastingdienst.nl/wps/wcm/connect/nl/aftrek-en-kortingen/content/anbi-status-controleren and enter 820080639. The result page confirms whether the organisation currently holds ANBI status - a prerequisite for tax-deductible donations in the Netherlands. Second, search the Kamer van Koophandel public registry at https://www.kvk.nl/zoeken/ - the KvK record shows the legal form (Stichting / Vereniging / Coöperatie), registered address, board composition (where disclosed), and the date of incorporation. Third, every ANBI is legally required by the publicatieplicht to publish on its own website: the policy plan, financial statements, an overview of activities, board composition, and remuneration policy. A working ANBI page with current financials is the strongest signal of legitimacy beyond the registry. If all three sources agree on name, address and ANBI status, the organisation is legitimate.
Contact Nederlandse Omroep Stichting directly for current donation methods. Dutch charities typically accept iDEAL (the standard Dutch online-banking payment method), Tikkie payment requests, Bancontact for cross-border donors, SEPA bank transfer to the organisation's IBAN (account numbers starting with NL), and online payment processors (Mollie, Stripe). Many larger Dutch charities use platforms like Geef.nl, GeefSamen, Kentaa, and Pifworld for online fundraising. International donors can give via SEPA (the Netherlands is in the eurozone, so intra-EU transfers are cheap), PayPal, or GlobalGiving. For donations to count as a 'periodieke gift' - fully tax-deductible without a threshold - a written agreement (overeenkomst periodieke gift) committing for at least five years is required. Always confirm the recipient's RSIN and ANBI status before sending funds intended for the tax deduction.
As an ANBI, Nederlandse Omroep Stichting is legally required to publish the following information on its own website, free of charge and without a login (the 'publicatieplicht' obligation under Uitvoeringsregeling AWR 1994 art. 1a): the policy plan, an overview of the past year's activities, the financial statements (balance sheet, profit-and-loss, explanatory notes), board composition with names, and the remuneration policy for directors and key staff. Larger ANBIs (turnover above €50,000) must also publish a fuller financial report using the Belastingdienst's standard ANBI publication form. If you cannot find these documents on the organisation's website, that is a red flag worth raising with the board before donating.

Extremely rude, sexist and xenophobic news crew. I am global PR director at my job and responsible for media relations, also a former international journalist. Some time ago we had a NOS news crew come to our company to do a story. As I introduced myself (in English, which is also the official language at the international company I work for) they refused to speak to me and would only speak to my male, Dutch colleague and only in Dutch. They refused to shake my hand and turned their heads away and ignored me while only speaking to the Dutch colleague I mentioned whose position is not media related and whom they had never met before either. It was impossible to do my job or communicate with them as they were extremely rude and dismissive when trying to do so. I have never met such incredible rudeness and lack of professionalism in the 4 continents and dozens of countries I have done business in. Extremely shameful that such appalling behaviour exists in a well-known Dutch news outlet. Shame on you!

Very very bad media. Just spreading the government lies. Deepstate corporation that has to be taken down as soon as possible.

good news source, decent journalism. one of the fastest to report on many subjects. for example. i knew about the turkish insurection trough the NOS before any other media, including AP and reuters. reported on it.nowadays i get a lot of news directly from journalists / osint online. but it's still a good secondary source for more in depth looks and Dutch news.

The site is clean and easy to use. Most news is objective, short and easy to read.A good way to get all the daily news you need.I don't like that they are pushing a mobile app which offers no function over the mobile site which is really good.Sometimes articles are a little to short and sometimes it would be nice to give people some general advise for example how to not fall for certain scams.

Far-left government propaganda channel that systematically denies problems and gives one-sided explanations regarding wars, immigration, nationality problems and all the bad consequences that the multicultural society comes with.

Never been reliable, since at least the 80s but probably for longer, and it is getting worse. Stop being a mouthpiece of the left-wing liberal government. All of the Netherlands pays taxes, which are being used to fund NOS.

A lot of propaganda and lies, often citing vague data from "observers" or "trusted sources." Sometimes they provide links to foreign documents as proof, but these links don't actually prove anything (they rely on nobody checking them). They always support the US side and immediately backed Yoon Suk Yeol's accusations against North Korea, even though it had no connection to the actual issue. NOS is a disgrace. Be smarter dutchies! Don't rely on this source.
