A total of 362 community dogs and cats were transported to the hospital for spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, and de-worming. A total of 39 village field clinics were held at which 6,682 dogs and cats received rabies vaccinations, de-worming, and treatment of wounds/injuries. These field clinics provided veterinary services for animals in areas where such services would have otherwise not been available. 118 spay/neuter and other surgeries were performed at these field activities. Field Educators exchanged 2,857 ropes for unsafe neck restraints on dogs and 3,191 dog guardians received one-on- one education from our field educators. In total, The BIG FIX Uganda treated 8,845 animals during 2021 and performed 555 surgical procedures. During 2021, The BIG FIX Hospital opened an infectious disease isolation treatment unit primarily for parvo virus patients to improve survivability from the virus. The COVID-induced lockdown created hardship for many of our Comfort Dog Project participants and their families so an emergency food distribution was carried out in June
