Djelatnosti kojima se ostvariju ciljevi Zajednice su: - sudjelovanje u provedbi preventivnih mjera zaštite od požara i tehnoloških eksplozija, - gašenje požara i spašavanje ljudi i imovine ugroženih požarom i tehnološkom eksplozijom, - pružanje tehničke pomoći u nezgodama i opasnim situacijama, - oblikuje vatrogasni sustav grada Jastrebarsko, u skladu s vatrogasnim planom - potiče aktivnosti u pogledu poboljšanja stanja zaštite od požara i provedbe vatrogasne djelatnosti - priprema i provodi zadaće iz Programa aktivnosti u provedbi posebnih mjera zaštite od požara od posebnog interesa za Republiku Hrvatsku - zastupa interese vatrogastva grada, područja odnosno općine - vodi i redovito obnavlja baze podataka te očevidnika koje vatrogasna zajednica grada, područja odnosno općine prikuplja u skladu s odredbama ovog Zakona i propisa donesenih temeljem ovog Zakona - sudjeluje u izradi prijedloga strategija, studija, smjernica, programa i provedbenih planova - organizira i provodi vatrogasna natjecanja - organizira javna savjetovanja i stručne skupove - provodi prekograničnu suradnju u području vatrogastva - koordinira aktivnosti oko uključivanja vatrogasnih postrojbi u sustav civilne zaštite - osposobljavan i usavršava članove DVD-a temeljem važećih propisa, - provodi teorijsku nastavu i praktične vježbe u vatrogasnim postrojbama, - organizira pokazne vježbe na razini Zajednice, - provodi promidžbene aktivnosti, - promiče i zastupa zajedničke interesa svojih članica i članova, - surađuje s pravnim osobama radi unapređenja vatrogastva i zaštite od požara, - obavlja i druge poslove koji su joj stavljeni u nadležnost posebnim propisima.
