Stiftungszweck ist die Förderung und Unterstützung von Maßnahmen der Unfallverhütung, der Behandlung und Rehabilitation sowie der Betreuung und Nachsorge von verletzten Menschen mit Schäden des Zentralen Nervensystems und der diesen Zielen dienenden Forschung. Zum Zwecke der Vertretung der Interessen der Menschen mit Schädelhirntrauma und ihrer Angehörigen hat die ZNS-Stiftung die AG Teilhabe gegründet, in der gemeinsam mit weiteren Partnern (aus der Selbsthilfe, von seiten der Leistungserbringer etc.) durch Veranstaltungen wie den Nachsorgekongress oder auch mit einem Parlamentarischen Abend für die Interessen der Betroffenen sensibilisiert wird.
