You can verify 1610 Limited in several ways. First, search the Charity Commission Register at https://register-of-charities.charitycommission.gov.uk/ - every charity registered in England and Wales appears here with its registration number, trustees, governing document, and filed accounts. Because this is a charitable company, you can also check its filings on Companies House (https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/). Second, check whether the charity's annual return and accounts are up to date - the Commission flags charities with overdue filings. Third, look for the Fundraising Regulator badge on the charity's website, which signals voluntary compliance with the Code of Fundraising Practice.
Contact 1610 Limited directly for current donation methods. UK charities typically accept online card payments, direct debit, and bank transfer. Many also use platforms such as JustGiving or Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). Payroll Giving (Give As You Earn) lets you donate pre-tax through your employer.
Donations to 1610 Limited are eligible for Gift Aid if you are a UK income-tax or capital-gains-tax payer. Gift Aid adds 25% to your donation at no cost to you (the charity reclaims basic-rate tax from HMRC). Higher-rate and additional-rate taxpayers can also claim back the difference through Self Assessment or by adjusting their PAYE tax code. Gifts of shares, property, or land to charity are free of Capital Gains Tax and can be deducted from your income for Income Tax purposes. Legacy gifts (in your will) reduce the value of your estate for Inheritance Tax and can lower the IHT rate from 40% to 36% if you leave at least 10% to charity.
1610 Limited is based in Somerset. The Charity Commission for England and Wales (CCEW) is the primary regulator. 1610 Limited was first registered in 2009, making it approximately 17 years old. UK charities must file an annual return with the Charity Commission to remain on the register. A long registration history generally indicates sustained operations and continuous regulatory compliance.

The Bridgwater, Somerset 1610 Trinity Sports and Leisure swimming pool opened today and I went along. Must say it was a great experience. Very organised, very safe and very clear guidelines. We were restricted numbers, all booked online before arriving. Pool divided into 3 lanes for different speed swimmers and one way system around the centre. Limited changing rooms and lockers but all worked like clockwork. Well done 1610Trinity Sports and Leisure.

Avoid at all costs. This company are scammers and don’t like speaking to people over the phone. They have a call centre upstairs and just sit there ignoring the phones but will happily reply over email irrelevant of what you’ve asked.

absolutely awful customer service!!!!In October I had to cancel my sons swimming lessons due to medical reasons and not one person ever told me that we had to pay one more month as it's a 30 day notice period. And not one person wants to take ownership let alone to reply properly and speak to me. I have in black & white writing I can cancel at anytime but no one told me about the 30 day notice period. If a shop displays the wrong price they have to take responsibility I can only see this is very similar not the customers fault at all. But trying to get anyone to speak to me is beyond difficult. Nearly two months and nothing when it is all 1610's fault not informing the customers properly! So now we aren't allowed to use the swimming pool, or can we afford to pay another months lessons or have we ever been told that we should of in the first place!!! awful service.

50% of the showers in the mens changing room stopped working, so they removed it. That’s not good for a gym with 20 sweaty people in it. 100% of the water dispensers in the gym broke, so they removed that too. There’s never any staff in the gym, so it’s completely unsupervised. The changing rooms themselves are filthy, especially the toilets and the one shower. The lockers haven’t worked in years. You can email a complaint, but you won’t get a response. You can complain to the person on the front desk, but they slopey shoulder the responsibility on to a third party and claim ignorance. The bonus is that you get to enjoy this all for just twice the price of the local competition - £40 a month. They really need to sort themselves out. I’ve just cancelled the DD, and emailed to request the contract cancellation. I’ll be lucky to get a response to that.

2 days in a row trying to call but no one pick up the phone. After 30 min the phone just cuts off. Decided to go there in person but no one was at reception desk. The staff was chatting in the office.. Information online is not sufficient with abbreviations that are not explained so it's not clear if we can go for a swim or not. Awful 😞

We going to the swimming lessons in to 1610 . And all great excluding new life guard. His picking on anyone near water especially kids. Talk rude and bit scary for kids. Even when mums take a good care in situations his still there to drop his point. I love go to swimming over there , and instructors are great 5 starts. Even rest of life guard are brilliant but this new stuff are really put me off to continue go to the lessons.

Total lack of organisation and terrible customer service. Tried to resolve issues with the centre but the staff just don't care.

I have been attending swimming with my son and daughter over the past 10 yrs and honestly if there was an alternative closer to me I’d definitely be gone from this place. There is a woman on reception at 1610 Dorchester who is the most rudest and unhelpful person you’ll ever meet and when I spoke to a supervisor about it it was like why am I saying anything at all with how I’ve just been spoken too, it was absolutely disgusting and I had people in the changing rooms even saying I can’t believe how she just responded and spoke to you.

The communication between the centre and its members of the 1610 in Bridgwater is very poor. They set up a new direct debit and took the money out of my account without any explanation of what the additional charge is for. The staff does not bother to reply to your emails to rectify things before they need to be escalated further. The reception is rarely manned and no one picks up the phone when you try to call. Overall a very poor experience. On a plus side the swimming classes are okay.

It appears from previous reviews that Dorchester 1610 hasn’t improved its customer service….Today is a regular non-holiday day, and after carefully checking the opening times on their website beforehand, I was particularly disappointed to arrive and find the centre was closed. This is despite the fact that the website clearly stated that the whole facility was open. To make matters worse, I only use the gym but was told at reception that I needed to “book a class in order to check whether the facilities were actually open”.So, according to Dorchester reception staff, I must book a class, which I don’t want or need, purely to find out whether the opening times on their own specific Dorchester website is actually correct!! Let’s not forget that I possibly couldn’t book at all if the class was full anyway, so I would be back to square one and none the wiser! Absolutely ridiculous!! Here’s an idea: How about 1610 Dorchester simply providing the right information on their website, as opposed to providing poor service instead, and then blaming the customer???
