Estimular la investigació científica de aquest tipus de malalties. Divulgar i sensibilitzar a la societat, sobre els diferents aspectes de aquestes afectacions, per tots els mitjans. Representar i defensar els interessos dels seus associats davant les diferents administracions públiques i d'altres persones físiques o jurídiques. Per aconseguir les seves finalitats, l'associació realitza les activitats següents: Donar atenció psicològica individual i a les famílies, organitzar tallers, jornades informatives i deportives així com donar beques per la rehabilitació.
