Pro dosažení účelu Ústavu provádí Ústav tyto hlavní činnosti spočívající v: - poskytování multiprofesní služby nevyléčitelně nemocným a umírajícím dětem i dospělým v jejich přirozeném prostředí a nabízení podpory jejich blízkým včetně doprovodných služeb (poskytování multidisciplinární specializované paliativní péče, ambulantních zdravotních služeb v oboru paliativní medicína, ordinační zdravotní služby v oborech všeobecná zdravotní sestra a paliativní medicína, registrovaných sociálních služeb, psychosociální podpory a dalších služeb), - osvětové činnosti uvedené výše pod bodem 1. písm. b), - v pořádání veřejných sbírek.
