Membership price rising but hygiene standards falling

I have been a member of Armthorpe Leisure Centre for around 15 years, but unfortunately the condition of the showers and changing facilities has declined to an unacceptable level.Over the past several months I have repeatedly raised concerns with DCLT (Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust) about hygiene in the changing rooms, particularly the showers. The issues include:Mould in silicone seals in the shower cubiclesYellow staining on wall and floor tilesGrime and residue on shower headsDirty drain edges and build-up in grout linesDust-blocked extraction vents that appear not to be workingCeiling tiles with yellow water stainingStrong unpleasant odours in the changing roomsThe locker situation is also poor. Many lockers are broken, missing keys or barrels, and some appear to be permanently occupied, leaving very few usable lockers even early in the morning.Because of the condition of the showers, I now leave the gym early to shower at home before work, which defeats the purpose of having shower facilities at the gym. I also know of other long-term members who have either left or are considering leaving because of the same issues. What is particularly frustrating is that I have contacted DCLT directly about this multiple times without receiving any response.Emails were sent to:Chris Wright – DCLTMichael Hart – DCLTThe general DCLT contact emailDespite providing detailed feedback and photographs, there has been no reply and no visible improvement.Members have recently been notified that membership fees are increasing by around £4 per month. While that may not sound like much, it is difficult to accept price increases when basic hygiene standards in the showers and changing rooms are not being maintained.Daily cleaning and proper maintenance of washing facilities should be the absolute minimum standard in any gym.I have stayed loyal to this gym for many years, even though I pass two other gyms on my way there, but unless the hygiene issues are addressed properly I will ha
