This zoo was great the animals were friendly and looked well cared for. There was plenty to do for children. The zoo had access all over for disabled (although quiet hilly). It was great for disabled scooters or electric wheelchair, I even rented a scooter there at a very reasonable donation and deposit. And the staff were very pleasant and knowledgeable.

Visited the zoo this week. I took my scooter as it said it was accessible for scooters and wheelchairs. I found that the entrance and exits were hard to get in and out due to floor joiner (can't think of name) the disabled toilet also difficult to get in although plenty of room. Was not very clean. Many areas of the zoo not accessible for wheelchairs or scooters due to path surface. The signs that were stating it was not suitable were faded and/or hidden by foliage. Paths were uneven and/or very steep that my scooter kept cutting out. Putting myself and others at risk due to total power failure which meant no breaks. Alot of building work going on at moment which I understand is necessary. But some paths were blocked by equipment, barriers could have been put up redirecting public to a suitable route to exit rather than getting half way up a slope to find that you were at a dead end and not enough room to turn round. Disappointed that we were not able to get round to see all animals. I thought it was hard enough with a scooter. I should imagine it's worse with wheelchairs. Paths should be even and concreted. Better routes for scooters and wheelchairs need to be put in. On a more positive note the staff were lovely and helpful even a gentleman who worked at zoo who helped me get back up to the cafe/entrance. We were a bit concerned to see the two wolves pacing non stop, they obviously do this alot as there was a trench filled with mud and water. However I do not know their back story. We would have enjoyed the time at the zoo more if we were not struggling with the scooter on uneven, gravel or larger stone paths or slopes that were too steep.

For a 12 acre site, the animal enclosures are extremely small. Large animals exhibit signs of stress pacing back and forth. This could be interpreted as waiting for food times but they displayed this behaviour throughout the day. Large Cats NEED space to exercise for their mental wellbeing. I felt utterly depleted and would not visit ever again. Real shame as I live in North Devon and the Zoo came recommended. For smaller animals and small animal conservation absolutely acceptable but not Large animals. Borderline cruel. Sorry 😞

This is a gem of a zoo, so glad we visited! So much to see and amazingly close views of all the incredible animals. Can't tell you how many pictures I took! Fab talks too. All the animals and pens looked really well cared for with lots of lookout points. So many animals were out today we were really blessed.

Never been before today but we will definitely be back as the animals were incredible and the enclosures are obviously so well thought out especially for the animals welfare and comfort. The staff we encountered were happy and helpful, I wouldn't change a thing.I have been to so called bigger zoo's and none are as good a zoo as Exmoor zoo. Cafe and food choices are just right and at the right prices.

Went yesterday for a family bank holiday day out. Easy to book tickets online, lovely to see so many animals, birds, insects in lovely surroundings. Easy to navigate each animal by number with clear map.Lovely talk about the leaf insect and the praying mantis, which my Grandaughter and her friend loved especially seeing it up close on a stick. Very friendly staff and we really enjoyed it.

This is one of the best zoo experiences I could of gone to. It has so many unique and rare animals such as the shoebill stork and black panther. Food was good and almost every animal was out to see. They have wonderful animal experiences (the one I went to was the reptile one) where you can hold various animals.Not worth the hate.FIVE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I went to see the zoo on a dry, but very muddy underfoot day, (Tuesday 17 Feb). IT was half term and relatively busy. Staff were attentive and the cafe cosy. My issue is that some of the animals were less than happy. A cat, (smallish and with tufted ears), walked a figure of 8 back and forth, the whole time. It seemed to be on its own. The cheaters did not have space to run anywhere, again, meandering along the paths they had created. THis will be my last visit to any zoo, except Longleat. I felt saddened by the experience.

We came to Exmoor Zoo from Doncaster and the drive was absolutely worth it ! Me and my dad did the shoebill experience and it was so fantastic - Tina was so lovely and knowledgeable as well. We also really enjoyed the cheetah talk and the rest of the zoo/ seeing all the animals. Thank you Tina for making our visit so special
