この法人は、海や湖川に投棄されたプラスチックごみや生活ごみの清掃活動により海洋環境の保全及び改善を図るための事業、また水辺の汚染や環境変化により減少するサンゴなどの水中生物保護と再生、及び研究活動を行う事業、それら事業内容に対する社会の理解を深める活動を行い、多くの人々に海洋環境の保全、自然保護に対する意識の普及をはかり、持続可能な社会作りを目的とする。
「きれいな海を未来につなごう」 2019年までの1２年間、湖や海の底に沈む投棄ゴミをボランティアダイバー有志により、近畿各地152か所、ゴミ重量合計50,160kgの水中清掃活動を行い、同時にサンゴの保全や再生活動も実施してきました。近年はプラスチックごみの海洋汚染がクローズアップされ、水中生物への影響もさらに大きくなっています。ごみ自体を減らす活動も大切ですが、水中に投棄されたごみはダイバーによって回収するより手がありません。海未来はこの環境保護活動をさらに拡大し、継続的に推進するために発足しました。今後は多くの人々に海洋環境の保全、自然保護に対する意識の普及をはかり、持続可能な社会作りを目的として活動していきたいと考えています。 特定非営利活動の種類 (1)環境の保全を図る活動 (2)社会教育の推進を図る活動 (3)学術、文化、芸術又はスポーツの振興を図る活動 (4) 前各号に掲げる活動を行う団体の運営又は活動に関する連絡、助言又は援助の活動 特定非営利活動に係る事業 ① 水中清掃活動事業 ② 陸上清掃活動事業 ③ 水中生物資源の保護・増殖再生及び調査・研究事業 ④ 水中清掃活動支援事業 ⑤ 環境保全活動の普及啓発・教育事業
