Trustpilot
Lincoln Cathedral is one of the most remarkable buildings in the country, on a hilltop location visible from miles around. It has fairly recently been restored and cleaned. The entry ticket costs £12 but you get a year-long pass so you can visit more than once. The ticket includes a tour with a volunteer guide, who explains about the stained glass, the vaulted roof, the tombs and so on. There are also more specialised tours, for example a roof tour which is amazing, taking you right up to the ancient oak beams and even out onto the roof at one point. There is a nice cafe next to the cloisters.

Lincoln cathedral is a stunning building on the top of a hill. We did the ground floor tour and our tour guide, Ingrid, was so friendly and knowledgeable. There is a roof tour too. There is so much to see here - a visit is definitely recommended.

We are a Christian couple who have visited this great cathedral a number of times in the past. On this day we wanted to pray and look at the relics. We did pray and lit a candle, but to look around we were asked to pay a very unreasonable £12.50 each, or £25 as a couple. This is daylight robbery. I fully understand that the maintenance of cathedrals is a mighty expensive business and that the collections from worshippers do not meet the need. There are other ways to raise funds for Lincoln cathedral, I should know as I’m actively involved in raising funds for Llandaff cathedral in Cardiff.
