Totally Disorganised Ticket Fiasco

Have attended Manchester Pride over a number of years and thoroughly enjoyed, however this year (2018) they appear to have totally messed up on their ticket release - they released the tickets and wristbands a week before the event. Ticketmaster compounded it by failing to have enough time to ship them out to customers who may have to travel a long distance to the event (they didn't get delivered until late morning the day before the event, after our departure time, so we ended up having to cancel).Considering I paid for the wristbands the week after the 2017 Pride event, taking 51 weeks to release them smacks of utter disorganisation.Whilst I would recommend the event itself, don't bother with the Early Bird tickets as there are no guarantees you will get them in time for any travel plans you may need to make.In addition, both Manchester Pride and Ticketmaster state that the purchases are non-refundable, so even if they fail to get tickets or wristbands to you in time for you to attend, you can go whistle about a refund (a friend didn't receive his wristbands until the 2nd day of the event).

No Wristband is needed to enter the…

No Wristband is needed to enter the village and it is an offence for Manchester Pride to block your right of access Manchester Pride. The organisation which has misled the LGBT community since 2003. Telling them that a payment was needed to enter our gay village while pride was on. No payment was ever needed. In fact charging pedestrians to enter closed streets within the gay village was unlawful. They were told this way back in 2002. Since this became public knowledge roads within the gay village have only been closed to motor vehicles only. It is an offence for Manchester Pride to block your right of access into the gay village, unless the area becomes overcrowded. They may not prioritise wristband buyers over those without and you do not have to state where you are going. to make it clear, members of the public on foot have unrestricted right of access into the village and no one should be harassed by Manchester pride security. Some of the dirty tricks they are employing now at the gates is telling you no bars will serve you without a wristband. A lie because some bars served people or they will say gesture to you to show your wrist. This is only dirty tricks to try to mislead people who aren't sure of their rights as you have a legal right into the village even if no bars would serve you.The Local Government Ombudsman ruled in April 2015 that Manchester City Council had "exceeded its powers" by including mention of wristbands in a traffic order. For ten years the public was unlawfully charged and obstructed. Minutes of a meeting held at Marketing Manchester in Nov 2002 show that all concerned knew it was unlawful before they started doing it the following August

Disgusting scam artists

Disgusting scam artists! Cancelled the 2020 event and not provided a refund! No apology and ignoring all contact, now being left with no option but to seek legal action against them!

Manchester pride worst ever…

Manchester pride is one of the main weekends we look forward to each year. This year with the change we were already sceptical to how it was going to be this year. It was worse. There is not enough room around canal street and the surrounds for this type of pride. When there was a place for people to go if choose to, for main acts like Manchester live it was so much more enjoyable. It was to overcrowded. We were use to this after Manchester live in canal Street not all day every day. No system whatsoever. People could enter without wristbands, which we knew this already due to public right of way. Fair enough not into pubs. But it was uncomfortable the amount of people everywhere pubs streets everywhere. There was no hope of getting anywhere near the so called main stage of acts. Tried to go back old school and failed, bring back the way it use to be, bring back the pride we the majority all love, can see from comments this was an epic fail, and failed miserably. Bring back the pride everyone gets to experience. Of all the years I have been going this was by far the worst experience and will not be going again if things don't change. Manchester Pride is one of the biggest in the country. It needs to be somewhere, or the main acts somewhere that can accommodate this amount of people. Please do something for next year. You will be losing out on alot of people if not, myself included.

This charity does so much to help so…

This charity does so much to help so many, they are so much more than just a big party (which they do very well) - but they are at the heart of the LGBTQIA+ community in Manchester. Thanks for all you do!

Manchester Pride Scam

They have been charging entry into the village when they were told they couldn't insist on charging back in 2002. They are still trying to mislead people at the entrances by checking for wristbands when none is needed just to enter the roads

Very sad to post this but very…

Very sad to post this but very disappointing experience. The gay village is overcrowded. People are trampling on others, pushing, shoving and the only way to prevent this and make it fun for everyone is to control numbers. It’s clear they are trying to get as many people in as possible but that’s preventing most people from having a good time. Unfortunately we experienced hate crime in the bar toilets which is traumatic and the staff can’t even intervene because the situation is too dangerous. The event is poorly managed and we will not be returning or recommending this to anyone until ticket sales are reduced or the location is changed to manage the quantity of people attending.
