Utter disgrace

After seeing your advert which obviously uses actors that are reading a script I have been forced to write this review. You need to stop wasting money on tv advertising and try doing what your claim. I tried accessing Mind and the only option given to me was mindfulness techniques which I can learn easily through a simple web search. I will never return or recommend Mind to any fellow mental health sufferer. I've been left to deal with my diagnosis by myself for 20 year no thanks to you.

I need help, I’m not getting it…

I need help, I still need help and spent a month going back and forth with mind to try and get one to one help all for it to culminate in them not even remembering me or our correspondence. This was very distressing for me. With my GP now not responding either after simply tossing me over to them I truly feel I have no one to turn to…this is me trying to get noticed. Somehow, by a charity that claims to help people having trouble dealing with their mental health…

Tried to get help for a friend who was…

Tried to get help for a friend who was on the verge of getting sectioned. Someone homeless, frightened, penniless, just possessing the rags they wore and a ragged sleeping bag. MIND were useless. Seems like middle class bods talking to you from their comfort zone, rather than anything concrete. In the end I gave shelter to this person and eventually (months later) got them to accept the need to claim benefits and even, God willing, get a place, not to mention clothes, food and looking for work, although it is clear to me that this person has some type of undiagnosed schizophrenia. No support from anywhere other than one person who donated a coat. MIND need to get real and start sacrificing time, money and effort to help desperate people, else they are just another group who ignore those in crisis and benefit of their backs, from people's good will and desire to donate. Sorry if this seems harsh but it is my experience, born of several years. And the other agencies, like St Mungo's are in a similar position.

Don't bother, completely useless

I was offered 6 weekly phone sessions and oh boy what a complete waste of time. The lady I was allocated clearly had something wrong uptop herself. She offered no solutions, just sat at end of the phone "supposedly" listening with the odd "I know how hard it is" or "oh dear" "I care" thrown in here and there; clearly working from a script. What actually enraged me was that she didn't actually listen to anything I said over the weeks. She did suggest things I could try and do BUT I had told her numerous times I didn't feel able due to my agoraphobia and it was exactly the same on other topics we covered; she clearly didn't absorb anything I spoke to her about and she would approach certain things that we had already discussed and that I had answered, but still she kept going over old ground. It was like talking to a brick wall to be honest. This happened every week over the 6 weeks. She never actually LISTENED properly in any session which was clearly obvious with what she was saying. It was like when I was talking she left the phone on her desk and walked away if you know what I mean. Got to the point where I dreaded receiving her phone call. If you just want to air your thoughts to someone on the end of the phone, that's fine but DON'T expect anymore ie. solutions/ideas

Employ liar, complaints dept uninterested

I had counselling from them from a referral from another service. It took a year or so rather than the six weeks I was told. I was told by various people it would be a different number of sessions. The "therapist" could hardly speak or write English, wasting time in repeating and trying to explain over and over again, ignored signposting requests to a branch of MIND itself she was ignorant of which I asked to be referred to, although it was her who asked about it on the first place, breached security rules several times, and falsified outcome (which I can prove) to save her own skin. Complaints procedure only dealt with privacy issues, not the fact that I proved an employee had falsified records, and very obviously lied about sending documentation. My GP had a real go at me about it, and made me cry, although I tried to explain I couldn't get a letter sent to me after months, let alone one, with my permission, directly to her. I cannot get any more help because of her easily proven fraud. I still don't have a factually correct letter now, just the falsified one, sent by snail mail because they seem to believe I am not capable of receiving emails. I was not sent anything by email in the first place. I would have given money in my will to them for campaigning and research but not after this experience.

At the start of the pandemic both…

At the start of the pandemic both myself and my wife needed help with our mental health, so we approached this organisation. Three weeks later (!) they replied with a brief message advising us to consult our GP. Go figure. They were absolutely hopeless, uncaring and unresponsive to our needs. I think they should be outed for being nothing more than a raising awareness organisation. They present the image of a caring organisation that actually ACTS to help people, but that just isn't the case.

They mind their own business not the mental well being of others

As specified in the title they are another useless charity who do harm and believe ticking boxes and advertising makes them good, I spoke to two see you next Tuesdays in the Birmingham Call centre . The first bloke that I got through to falsely asserted that I told him I was on. drugs . I have never been and hate street drugs. The knob head couldn’t agree to disagree , or admit that he’d got it wrong he kept asserting his false narrative loudly and stupidly perhaps hoping his superiors could hear it he sounded half brain dead through out the call but he seemed to have an entitled air about him to continue trying to disempower me and failing . The next evil bar stool I talked to sounded like a right chow . I told her I was facing homelessness and a stressful time ,she kept barking back in a Negative way like she was on a narcissist. heat. Yelling “ow do ya think mind can help “???????? It’s clear to me that some of the A holes they hire , have no empathy and next to know desire provide compassion and support . The managers should be marched out of their high paid set up and forced into poverty . With the Labour Party de powered and unable to protect them. Clearly all of our health services need to be taken back to the drawing board .

Avoid

Memory support volunteerSafe guarding issue. One member of staff was just a bully... accused me of talking over her....said my humour had no place there...do not speak to the customers carers because they have their own meetings. She forcefully awoke a customer....when I told her that could have been assault...she said I know nothing about dementia ...my Aunty died of it ! During one meeting she spent most of her time in the corner on her phone !I have spent almost 8 weeks trying to report the situation and have been passed from one manager to another most of whom have been on holiday. This level of service is not fit for purpose.

I should have learnt the first time I went to Mind for help and they were useless and their advice led to me getting the sack from my job.A few years later tried again and same level of incompetence leaving me in a worse situation than when I started. Never again!!!

let me down when I needed them the most

I have been a sponsor of Mind for many years, however, I have recently withdraw my support based on my recent experience. I had a session with a Mind counsellor in 2021, who was absolutely excellent. Unfortunately, she has left the organisation and when I needed support recently, lady I was eventually allocated after three months of chasing, was completely disinterested, and had absolutely no empathy in supporting me. All I was after was some signposting to the correct help I needed, but she was unable to do that. Mind, you have really let me down when I most needed you.
