Wir fordern, dass im Hinblick auf gesundheitliche Aufklärung und Maßnahmen die gleichen Anstrengungen unternommen werden wie etwa bei Krebs, Herzinfarkten, Schlaganfällen und sexuell übertragbaren Krankheiten. Prävention Es muss ein Bewusstsein dafür geschaffen werden, dass Sepsis durch die Verhinderung von Infektionen und deren frühzeitige Behandlung vermeidbar bzw. reduzierbar ist. Es sollte zum Allgemeinwissen gehören, dass die effektivsten Maßnahmen hierzu Impfungen und das Beachten von Hygieneregeln sind. Früherkennung Menschen aller Altersgruppen und das medizinische und Pflegepersonal aus allen Bereichen des Gesundheitswesens und aus Pflegeeinrichtungen sollten die Frühzeichen einer Sepsis kennen und gleichzeitig wissen, dass Sepsis wie Herzinfarkt und Schlaganfall als Notfall behandelt werden muss. Dies erfordert die Stärkung der Gesundheitskompetenz zu Infektionen und Sepsis in Schulen, Erste-Hilfe-Kursen, Rettungsdiensten und auf den Lehrplänen für das pflegende und ärztliche Personal. Umsetzung anerkannter Diagnose und Behandlungsstandards Die Sepsissterblichkeit und die Einhaltung der wissenschaftlich belegten effektivsten Maßnahmen zur Vermeidung, Früherkennung und Behandlung von Infektionen und Sepsis müssen für alle Bereiche des Gesundheitswesens verpflichtende und transparente Qualitätsindikatoren werden. Um diesen Zielen auf politischer Ebene näher zu kommen, treten wir im Sinne der Interessenvertretung an Bundestagsabgeordnete und Mitglieder der Bundesregierung heran, machen auf herrschende Missstände sowie vorhandenes Optimierungspotential aufmerksam und versuchen auf diese Weise auf unterschiedlichste Lösungsmöglichkeiten hinzuwirken, die die gegenwärtige Situation in fachlicher wie gesellschaftlicher Hinsicht verbessern.
