Dies erfordert die Stärkung der Gesundheitskompetenz zu Infektionen und Sepsis in Schulen, Erste-Hilfe-Kursen, Rettungsdiensten und auf den Lehrplänen für das pflegende und ärztliche Personal. Umsetzung anerkannter Diagnose und Behandlungsstandards Die Sepsissterblichkeit und die Einhaltung der wissenschaftlich belegten effektivsten Maßnahmen zur Vermeidung, Früherkennung und Behandlung von Infektionen und Sepsis müssen für alle Bereiche des Gesundheitswesens verpflichtende und transparente Qualitätsindikatoren werden.
