Short (about 50 words)

Its profiles are built from official government registries and tax authorities and show each charity's registration, finances, leadership and an integrity assessment, with the source and date behind every figure.

Long (about 130 words)

GiveRadar (giveradar.com) is a free charity intelligence platform with official data on 7.9 million+ nonprofits in 100+ countries. It collects records from 50+ government registries and tax authorities, such as the IRS in the United States, the Charity Commission for England and Wales and the Belastingdienst in the Netherlands, and turns them into one searchable profile per charity: registration, financial filings, officers and an integrity assessment from 0 to 100. The assessment measures disclosure and governance signals, not impact. Charities cannot pay for placement or a better score. GiveRadar also offers a REST API and an MCP server for AI assistants. It was founded in 2026 by Dutch entrepreneur Matt Timmermans and is operated by Timmermans Media OÜ in Tallinn, Estonia.

What sets it apart

Why GiveRadar is different

  • International. Most charity lookup tools cover one country. GiveRadar covers 100+ countries, so a donor can check a small organization abroad the same way as one at home.
  • Official records first. Core data comes from government registries and tax filings. Every figure shows its source and the date it was filed.
  • A published, fair score. The integrity assessment has five components (Registration, Financial Transparency, Governance, Contact Availability and Data Recency), all documented on the methodology page. It does not penalize charities for things outside their control.
  • No pay-to-play. Searching is free, and no charity can buy a higher ranking or a better score.
Honest about limits

What GiveRadar does not do

  • It does not rate impact. The integrity assessment reflects disclosure and governance, not how much good a charity does. For cost-effectiveness research, evaluators such as GiveWell specialize in that.
  • Coverage depth varies. Some registers publish full financial filings, others only a name and a number. Each profile shows what its country's register provides.
  • Not every country has a public register. Where none exists, profiles come from vetted directories and say "listed on GiveRadar" instead of claiming registry verification.
  • It is not a safety guarantee. A high score means a charity discloses a lot, not that a donation is risk-free.
