Sistech is a European non-profit founded in 2017 by social entrepreneur Joséphine Goube (Obama Scholars 24, Forbes 30 under 30,). She created the organisation to empower uprooted & displaced women through access to tech & digital job opportunities. Sistech builds partnerships with companies that believe & invest in their own diversity, connecting them with a pool of talented refugee women who are eager to work. Sistech's programmes are innovative & holistic. They were co-designed by refugee women to meet real needs. We create safe & enabling learning environments, where refugee women can thrive. Starting from just a 12-person cohort in Paris, the organisation has since grown substantially. Today, we support more than three hundreds of women across France, Italy and Greece each year. Sistech's mission is to empower uprooted & displaced women through qualified & sustainable jobs in tech. By facilitating their access to sustainable employment, Sistech advances the economic and social empowerment of refugee women. Beyond merely responding to the increasing need, Sistech recognises that working at a bigger scale does have the potential to generate systemic impact that goes beyond participant numbers. Scale can unlock partnerships with institutions that influence national and international policies. This is why Sistech has taken a bigger stance on the cause of refugee women and their social & economic empowerment, as well as started dedicating resources to build up advocacy efforts in 2024. This is why Sistech aims to serve 1% of refugee women of working age in Europe by 2033 (11,000 women) and contribute to the wealth of knowledge and practices of the ever-growing ecosystem of organisations serving refugee women.
