I wanted to know if the Copley leisure centre had a normal swimming programme on during the August bank holiday, or an amended one. There was nothing addressing this on their website. I telephoned 4 times and all I got was a recorded message saying they were too busy to deal with my call. I then went, with the children, to the leisure centre and we were completely ignored by the receptionist. Women turned up after us and were dealt with straight away. Males are obviously invisible. We left, went elsewhere and had a great time. We will never be going to Copley leisure centre again.

A good leisure centre. I come with the family to the swimming pool and we always find it clean and the kids enjoy it. I would recommend it to families.

Tameside wellness centre dentonI went in last week to book bowling for my sons 3rd birthday, we booked 2 lanes together for all the family. When I got there I waited in the bowling que whilst the lad served all the cafe que before seeing to me and I was there a good 20 mins.He told us which lane it was so we sat down, I asked if they could start the bowling as it was past 2 o'clock. The girl said we needed to move lanes and would have to wait 10 mins (no explanation). The lanes we was put on was back to back and a wall in-between us so we couldn't really all enjoy the experience together. I think there is a staffing/organisation issue.

Gym userThe place is being run into the ground. The latest thing is the parking, we will no longer be able to claim the parking charge back in the centre from April. Going to the gym four or five times a week is no longer feasible, on top of the membership fee. The music can be absolutely terrible, expect to be listening to love ballads, 80s music, or S club 7, or whatever the staff in the office want to listen to. It's usually really inappropriate for a gym environment, and has a big impact on the atmosphere. This has been repeatedly raised with the area manager. There is never any staff in the gym. The gym can be a tip, with equipment and weights all over the floor. It's very dirty. There's a constant bad smell coming from all the drains around the changing rooms, which are filthy. There is a long list of basic equipment missing from the gym, including a lack of handles for the cables. The equipment is very tired, benches are often broken and unable to be safely moved. It takes weeks for something to be mended or replaced. They are also massively understaffed. There are some great staff on the floor, that take the brunt of most of the users frustrations, and I don't think they are valued by the company!

Went to taichi class one time in hyde to see how it is. Being newbie, I know nothing but the instructor instead of encouraging me, is throwing insulting comments which make me embarrassed again to attend the next session. I'll try taichi but not in hyde and not with this senior instructor. Rude and rough. Needs more training.

Absolutely love the staff. BUT !! There are too many kids allowed in the gym. Some evenings it’s like 80% kids. ! Most are in there without membership as I see them giggling that they have got in. They mess about on the treadmills with their incessant giggling. Not the best. No one comes in the gym to get them out when they are supposedly not allowed in Tameside get a grip. Gyms are not playgrounds.

Not hygienic at all no food selling staffs attitudes are disgusting not happy one bit my child has not been able to eat and not being funny very scruffy to play in

This is the worst website for a leisure centre. It is impossible to access the timetable for swimming and possibly other activities at the wellness centre and I suspect other centres as it is circuitous taking you round and round without giving you the simple list of times when you can visit the pool and have a swim and not attend to discover that the pool is not available because of some other activity Eg school lessons, water polo or ladies only.
