I recently was unfortunate to receive some appalling service at the hands of Bolton Kia and while I was in their waiting room saw the invitation to write a review on 'thebestofbolton' website.Thinking it would be wise to warn others of the awful experience at the hands of this particular garage, I took up the invitation and wrote my truthful account.Since then, despite repeated requests, my review has not been published, so potential customers will only see the 10 'glowing' accounts.Such behaviour is unforgivable for a review site. Either it is a fair and accurate service, or cheap and tawdry advertising under false pretences.UPDATE:Since writing this, after an extraordinarily long delay, my review was published. However, they included a response from Bolton Kia which contained factual inaccuracies. The statement that 'they did all they could to resolve my issues' is patently and provably untrue.I think it disgraceful that a review site is happy to publish statements of this nature. It goes to the very heart of their purpose and must, by definition, throw doubt on the veracity of everything else they do.RESPONSE TO THEIR REPLY:I'm sure readers will be able to deduce a reasonable conclusion, given that it has taken almost 12 months to respond!!Furthermore, they don't address the main issue that they allowed lies from Bolton Kia to remain. I think that says it all about a review business and their usefulness.

Glad for Trustpilot so that we can review the reviews.Thebestof appears to be one of those typical review websites with stellar reviews about every trader. Once you publish a negative review, it just disappears into a black hole.Do not trust or use people recommended on the website, negative reviews will not get published. You have been warned.EDIT: 20 Sep 2016>We also feel it’s always important to give the businesses a right to >reply when a review is left about them for less than 3 stars as we want >to give them an opportunity to provide their response and investigate >before this is publishedThe review stands, I am well aware of your policy and still fail to understand how you can serve as a reliable source of feedback when you take over 3 months to respond on a negative review. The trader has also had over three months to respond, therefore had far too long an opportunity to address. However you still feel it is appropriate for them to advertise with five star reviews while they fail to be honest and prompt with their clients.

Do not waste your time and money buying a franchise from thebestof.Though the people behind it seem switched on and enthusiastic, the model itself is flawed, the costs of purchase are unrealistic, the monthly license fees are not linked to earnings and make the business unprofitable. The amount of time the model takes to update all the information and do sales work and then if you get clients to actually fulfil the work they are paying for requires a team, you can not do this by yourself as promoted.I had been throughly misled in the signing of the contract and have sought legal advice whom agree. However the cost of a legal challenge vs what I may get in return as N5ltd financials are not in good shape, make a legal challenge pointless. Many in the network are considering a class action lawsuit.I gave this a proper shot and lost a huge some of money. I now have several other successful businesses and had run a very successful business prior to thebestof.Since I purchased it I would estimate 40-50% of the franchise network have either failed or decided to close, even the ones that thebestof point out to be the better in the network as the business is generally unprofitable. There are some that are making money but thats on supplementary services that they offer having used thebestof as a springboard. Save your money and simply offer those services.None of their technologies work and are a disgrace. All they have to show the public is a website that is cluttered and grossly under performs in searches. The app is rubbish, the ticket platform is rubbish, the online shop I believe is closed as it was rubbish.Thebestof is not a scam, but its close to it. My opinion and that of others in the network is that they earn more money by reselling failed franchises than if they were receiving the licence fees. The model virtually ensures failure.N5 ltd, the operator of thebestof also operates The Entrepreneurs Circle (EC). They lost £750,000 and went into a form of receivership.

The bestof just don't buy the franchise I did and lost it all , do your background analysis, they blame failure on franchise owners but that's bsNote: trading standards U.K. Have investigated and ruled against them a few times and that's the law speaking. Sadly by the time I left I was broke and couldn't take them to court, that's what they rely on!!

Please Please don't go near this company. You will work you'r socks off for no return or help and lose money to an unscrupulous company run by people who will tell you it's all your fault not theirs. Stay clear.

thebestof is an absolute scam. Everything I was going to say about buying a franchise from them has already been said below in other people's previous Trustpilot reviews.I lost a substantial amount of money to them but thankfully I got out pretty quickly as soon as I could see that the concept is fundamentally flawed and their staff are utter liars, cheats and scam artists.Avoid at all costs.

This website is just a paid for advertising site masquerading as a website promoting the best businesses in the area. The businesses are only on this website because they pay for it. Whether they are good or bad is irrelevant! The laughable awards given for businesses with most reviews seem to suggest that the winners are the best in the country, area, business sector etc. The competition is simply confined to businesses who pay to go on the website! Total nonsense!!You'll never see a one-star review because they are never posted! I know this from experience. Also from my experience, it is easy to spot fake reviews posted by one business I am well acquainted with. Whoever is supposed to vet the reviews either do not do it properly, turn a blind eye or simply don't do it at all! I definitely would not choose a business to provide a product or service simply because it appears on this website.

If you are thinking of purchasing a franchise, avoid this one like the plague! I purchase one of their franchises for my local town in 2014 for around £14,000. It all seemed so good at the time! They SEEMED to be nice people and it sounded like a great opportunity. However the reality turned out to be very different.Their website does not work, nobody knows its there and it is simply not optimised at all. They tell you its not just about the website, but REALLY? Its quite easy to get people to sign up for an advert on the website but as soon as they realise it does not work, they cancel. The franchise fees exceed £1000 per month and even if you make no money at all, they still want their £1000. So you end up struggling to pay the fees and working like a slave to make enough money to feed the insatiable thebestof machine that does not care at all about you, they just want their money. In my case I just could not make it pay and I gave my notice and left still owing some franchise fees. Having paid them £14000 for the franchise and then thousands in monthly fees I thought they might be kind and not chase for the outstanding fees that I had been unable to pay due to their rubbish franchise just not working. But no, 4 years later they took me to court and sued for me for £8,000 which was a lot more than I owed, but had been inflated by interest, solicitors fees and court fees. I had to pay up because I had foolishly signed their draconian contract. The point of this salutary tale is to help others to avoid falling into the trap I fell into. DO NOT TOUCH THIS FRANCHISE WITH A BARGE POLE, AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS! You have been warned.
