What does a Bulgarian registry entry prove, and what does it not?
A registry entry establishes legal registration and records official particulars, including representatives, filed documents and the public- or private-benefit designation. It is legal recognition, not an assessment of the organization.
It does not certify effectiveness, financial health or eligibility for every tax benefit. Public-benefit status carries extra reporting duties and can bring specific tax treatment, but it is not a blanket exemption, as detailed by the finance ministry.
How do you check a Bulgarian NGO before you donate?
