The coronavirus pandemic presented a unique challenge to how the Bike Library would continue to provide our services in 2020, requiring adaptation at every level. The coronavirus pandemic presented a unique challenge to how the Bike Library would continue to provide our services in 2020, requiring adaptation at every level. In 2020 the Bike Library checked out 159 bicycles, providing an affordable and accessible entry into bicycling, and a primary form of transportation for many, especially during a time when the demand for safe, outdoor activity and transportation was in great demand. This was accomplished through an appointment system and "curb-side" service model, in keeping with public health social distancing guidelines. 2.) As-is Bicycle Sales and Repair Clinics: Patrons can purchase a bike that needs work at a low cost, in addition to recycled used parts. In 2020 we sold 186 as-is bicycles as well as used bicycle parts needed for repairs. Many of those who buy as-is bikes return to utilize our maintenance and repair programs and classes. However, with the pandemic, classes were mostly discontinued in keeping with public health social distancing guidelines.
