Celebrate Dyslexia and the Magik Theatre partnered in the 2022-2023 season to present a world premiere play, Eddie and Vinnie, concerning the topic of a child with dyslexia. This partnership enjoyed over 50 mentions in print, televised, and radio media. We are incredibly grateful to have been included in the portfolio of the National Endowment for the Arts. Celebrate Dyslexia continued with Dyslexia 101 presentations, providing teachers, administration, higher-education students, and parents with knowledge on dyslexia and what they can do to support a student with dyslexia in their specific role. CD has been grateful for the opportunity to conduct these presentations at the University of Texas San Antonio, Texas A&M University San Antonio, and multiple K-12 schools in districts …
To be a clearinghouse of evidence-based information that will educate the community on dyslexia, as well as how to navigate the current education system with this learning disability by providing resources to those in need. High profile events will create spaces of celebration and awareness within the community at large. Community outreach events will be organized and offered to parents and teachers alike including experience dyslexia simulator as well as evidence-based research on the importance of early identification and interventions. We will also work with other organizations to scholarship teachers who want to become dyslexia certified and/or become qualified instructors. Additionally, we work with medical professionals to obtain medical insurance coverage for the identification and treatment of dyslexia.

CD and CDS have enjoyed continued conversations within the community regarding our mission and upcoming goals, we are proud to have had over 650 community meetings and conversations over the past year. Celebrate Dyslexia Learning Center launched this summer, and we began our first COHORT of training teachers to become Certified Academic Language Therapists (CALTs) and a Qualified Instructor (QI). We are looking forward to continuing the learning center in the new year, and we hope to continue building capacity through hiring instructors and developing the curriculum
