Zweck des Vereins ist die Öffentlichkeits- und Lobbyarbeit für Investitionen deutscher Altersvorsorgeeinrichtungen in die deutsche Infrastruktur und der Einsatz für eine leistungsfähige deutsche Wirtschaft im internationalen Vergleich. (Vgl. Satzung) Wir positionieren Deutschland als geeigneten Investitions-Standort und schaffen verlässliche Rahmenbedingungen für Infrastrukturinvestments durch Interessensvertretung. Als sogenannte "Ewigkeitsinvestoren" verfolgen deutsche Altersvorsorgeeinrichtungen einen langfristigen (und partnerschaftlichen) Ansatz. Stabile Renditen sind für sie ein zentrales Element, um langfristigen Altersvorsorgeverpflichtungen nachzukommen. Sie übernehmen gesellschaftliche Verantwortung, denn sie tragen dazu bei, die Versorgungslücke der deutschen Bevölkerung zu schließen. Dies unterstützt die Erfüllung des Generationenvertrags und leistet gleichzeitig einen positiven Beitrag zur Wettbewerbsfähigkeit Deutschlands.
