The museum shall collect, research, disseminate and present material evidence of man and his environment in study and. educational purposes and follow the ICOM Museum's code. The foundation shall work for the museums to be associated with a good professional and scientific foundation, good conservation conditions for the collections and a. organisation that ensures a wide audience access to them. The museum. shall provide technical assistance to the smaller museums concerned in the municipalities. Bergen, Ashøy, Austrovoll and Øygarden not included in the foundation. The museum of Vest shall contribute to the development of national museum networks.
