Grundlage der Begleitung bilden das anthroposophische Menschenverständnis und die Heilpädagogik und Sozialtherapie, wie sie von Dr. Rudolf Steiner auf Grundlage der Geisteswissenschaft entwickelt und von Dr. Karl König im Rahmen der Camphill Bewegung weitergeführt und erprobt wurden.
