Visisted the Botanical Gardens after a double eye surgery. I needed a disabled scooter and the receptionist asked me for my Car Keys.She did not ask me sign in or register my vehicle. I asked her if car park had any charges, she advised me that I just need to hand in my keys which I did.I week later I received a £150 car park fine from Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Despite me asking the receptionist and not given the correct information. The reception staff were too busy talking than concentrating on their customers.I phoned 5 times.. And was always cut off and was told a manager will call me but never did. This is a common occurrence as I have found reviews about parking on trip advisor too.My appeal Has been rejected now and I am in terrible distress. What was mean to be a nice day out has turned into a nightmare. I feel let down and deeply upset at the unprofessional staff and management. Been cut off 5 times from reception and transferred to catering numerous times.!!!Mobile number was given but lady laughed at my experience their and no one called me back. Never ever will I visit again.

Terrible Customer ExperienceWent to visit this place for a date and parked in the car park. Tried to buy tickets half an hour before closing and got refused entry as they have last admission time.What the staff on the ticket office did not tell me is that I would be charged for parking without the entry ticket. Now looking at a £100 fine and the Botacnic Gardens team telling me it got nothing to do with them,DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE as they clearly do not care at all about their customers

I attended a GBCC event on 24.04.2024 and was not told to validate my parking I was told it was free. Got a parking ticket shortly afterwards called them and I was told to send them a email and to appeal the ticket with parking eye. I appealed and lost have sent them numerous emails and the proof I attended with my tickets and have not had a response. Admin just don't write back or help. I really could not afford the £60 fine I attended as my work asked me to and now I am out of pocket. What is the point of asking me to email admin if they can not be bothered to respond in any way. Felt totally let down by the team and parking eye are so bad don't get me started, ended up borrowing the money and paying the fine. I was told I can appeal to Popla.co.uk after reading their reviews I gave up. Money grabbing thieves

I received a membership for the gardens as a Christmas present. So disappointed on my first visit- the plant houses which I always loved are now extremely shabby and being run down ready for repairs, some of the paths were closed and - despite being on the entrance sign - the cafe is closed. No information about upcoming events- just told to look on the website. Shop was, however, very good

Was really disappointed. We've been going for years and firstly their website needs adjustment.we looked at menu for cafe that has been there for years and the old menu still on there!!Arrived at Cafe under new name and hardly any choice.What they did have very overpriced.Also admission prices wrong on website. We had to pay more.It's a shame as has been a favourite trip for us for many years.Probably won't return again,very disappointing.

The gardens themselves are wonderful but the parking side has been handed over to a company called Parking Eye. Because we forgot to register our car on arrival we received a letter from Parking Eye. It was actually an invoice for parking charges to the tune of £60-£100 but was cleverly disguised to look like a Penalty Charge Notice issued by councils. Parking Eye do not have the authority to levy fines but they are happy to trick you into doing so by labelling their invoice a "Parking Charge Notice" £60 for two hours is not a reasonable charge for parking. Those who registered their cars were charged £3. Thankfully the Botanical Gardens manager removed the charge. If they had not done so I would have sent a cheque for £5 to Parking Eye. Let them go to court and demonstrate how £60 is fair and reasonable. Having said that the magistrate might be 90 and not know the law.
