Kawan Aondofa-Anjira founded SECHILD on January 6, 2011 after her children Sedoo and Aondofa were born with cerebral palsy. Her family struggled to find dedicated rehabilitation, therapy, and support services in Nigeria. Following Sedoo's death, she established the organization so other families would not face the same lack of support and named it in her daughter's honor. Aondofa was the first child admitted.
