Women and Law in Southern Africa Lesotho (WLSA Lesotho) is the national chapter of a regional research and education network spanning several southern African countries. WLSA began in 1989 as a regional research project formed by researchers from Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe. It was established as a Research and Educational Trust in 1998 and the Lesotho chapter was registered as an NGO under the Societies Act (registration 2000/101) in 2000, working to advance the socio-economic, political and legal position of women and children.
