The Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD) is an Arab non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing child rights across the Arab world. Founded in 1987 following a resolution at the Arab League's Conference on Childhood and Development held in Tunisia in 1986, it was established at the initiative of HRH Prince Talal Bin Abdul Aziz. Headquartered in Cairo under a special agreement with the Egyptian government, ACCD works through partnerships with governmental, non-governmental, regional, and international organizations to promote children's rights to development, protection, participation, and integration within family and community.
ACCD works to build an Arab environment that upholds child rights and enables children to participate positively in society, accept others, and contribute to the development of their communities.
