The cultural strategy contained in this strategic plan for the next five years aims at interacting with world cultures while preserving the Arab identity. It is based on a set of programmes ranging in duration from 36 to 72 months for each programme. The main programmes directly related to the cultural sector concern educational and cultural institutions, the culture of co-existence and constructive dialogue, cultural policies, heritage preservation and cultural creativity. Alecso will opt for strong co-ordination between educational and cultural institutions and the media in order to preserve Arab identity among young people.
