We have recently adopted a dog from the Dog's Trust in Cardiff. The team were really helpful and accommodating. They gave us lots of information about the dog so we could make an informed choice. We were able to walk him with another dog to check for reactivity. Two days after we brought him home, we had a call from the centre to ask how it went and if he is displaying any worrying behaviours. I feel their care and support is exemplary. From the first day of arriving at Dogs Trust, all the way to post-adoption, the service and support received has been amazing! We were well looked after by Grace in the Cardiff branch who went out her way to ensure we found the perfect dog (which we did!) and she was extremely supportive throughout the process.Post adoption, I received a lovely phone call from Amy who was incredibly polite and helpful with the check in.Overall, the experience was nothing short of positive. It’s clear they care a huge deal about their dogs and ensuring people are supported during the adoption process and will definitely be coming back in the future!

Dogs Trust Cardiff care about the animals in their stead. They are extremely cautious as to who can adopt, and with good reason; many of these animals have had very sad or tragic starts to their life. It can be a long, often frustrating process to adopt from them, particularly if there's difficult criteria such as young children in the family, but they will try their best. The key is being persistent; they're extremely busy with rescues and dogs of all breeds, sizes and temperament coming in and leaving the centre every single day. It's not a guarantee that a dog will be available that suits your individual needs or requirements, as it's not a shop. It's a way to rehome dogs who need proper care. If you go in with the right attitude, it will be a rewarding experience for both you and, hopefully, a new pet to bring into your life and offer a better one than they may have had previously.
