Der VTFF ist Partner des „Eisvogel – Preis für nachhaltige Filmproduktionen“, arbeitet in der bundesweiten Arbeitsgruppe „Green Shooting“ mit und richtet jährlich den „Green Tec Day“ aus, der als zentrale Plattform für neue ökologische Standards, technologische Innovationen und den fachpolitischen Austausch rund um nachhaltige Produktion dient. In diesem Rahmen bringt der Verband aktiv Expertise zu ressourcenschonender Produktion, CO2-Reduktion und der Weiterentwicklung branchenspezifischer Nachhaltigkeitskriterien ein. Darüber hinaus führt der VTFF regelmäßig Branchenbefragungen durch, unter anderem zu wirtschaftlichen Kennzahlen, Kapazitätslagen und technologischen Entwicklungen seiner Mitglieder.
